The policy rules can be found in the F&L’s Articles of Association.
In accordance with the objectives, F&L offers networking opportunities for European leaders in freight and logistics, promotes a closer integration of different transport modes and sets up various logistics services contributing to the development of a competitive multimodal transport system on a European scale.
The General Meeting is composed of corporate members, associate members and honorary members, all of whom have voting rights. It establishes the F&L policy and its programme and activities, elects and removes from office the President and the members of the Management Committee, examines and approves the activity reports, establishes the yearly accounts, the budgets and the membership rules and fees.
The Management Committee proposes the F&L policy to the General Meeting. This committee is composed of the President, one or more Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer, and (other) F&L members up to a maximum of eleven members. These members are elected by the General Meeting among the Corporate, Associate and Honorary Members. They sit on the Management Committee for a period of three years and can stand for re-election at the end of the initial term of office.
The Executive Committee is composed of the President, one or two Vice-Presidents, and the Treasurer. The Committee prepares the Management Committee Meetings and entrusts the Secretary General with the daily management and the implementation of their resolutions. The Executive Committee Members are Members of the Management Committee.
The Specialised Commissions are composed of at least one representative of the Management Committee, qualified representatives of F&L members and experts whose presence is deemed necessary by the Management Committee or by the President of the Specialised Commission.
The Official Delegate is a representative of a member company. This delegate is part of the top logistics management of the company. He/she assures the transmission of F&L informations to the relevant units within the company and other key contacts.
